Seiho Sanso Honkan is a special space that transcends time, steeped in history and tradition. Built as a villa for Kimura Seishiro, the former 10th Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan, Honkan boasts a relaxed, free-flowing design incorporating the sukiya-zukuri style and spacious 198m² guest rooms. We offer a luxurious stay limited to one group per day.
The concept of Seiho Sanso Honkan is "an inn immersed in a historical space." Honkan, originally built around 1913 as the villa of Kimura Seishiro, the 10th Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan, was acquired by the Ehara family in 1936 and relocated to its current location on Mount Akagi in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. The spacious 198m² space blends Japanese and Western-style rooms, providing a luxurious stay. Honkan, built in the sukiya-zukuri style, combines historical design with modern comfort. A Japanese-style garden spreads out in the yard, allowing you to enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the seasons.
Honkan features a spacious living room, Western-style bedrooms, a cypress bath and sauna, and a beautiful garden. The spacious 198m² guest rooms are a fusion of historical design and modern comfort.
The spacious living room offers a panoramic view of the beautiful garden. The harmonious Japanese and Western design provides a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The cypress bath and sauna are luxurious relaxation spaces surrounded by the natural scent and warmth. On the wooden deck leading outside, you can enjoy the open-air bath and cold water bath, and spend a time relaxing both body and mind.
The courtyard is a Japanese-style garden where you will be taken aback by the beauty of nature. The shared garden uses the oldest bricks in Japan and offers beautiful scenery throughout the seasons. Please spend a relaxing time in the tranquility where history and nature intertwine.
You can enjoy watching movies on the big screen, having tea while looking out at the beautiful garden, relaxing in the cypress bath and sauna, and in the evening you can enjoy bonfires and seasonal experiences.
