Local information vol.4 "Fudo Falls in Takizawa"
Takizawa's Fudo Falls is a mystical waterfall nurtured by the natural beauty of Mount Akagi. Located in Kasukawa-cho, Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, it is known as Mount Akagi's largest waterfall. In spring, young leaves sparkle, in autumn the falls are adorned with colorful foliage, and in winter the entire waterfall freezes over, transforming into a fantastical icefall. It is a hidden gem that captivates visitors with its different expressions throughout the seasons.

To reach Fudo Falls in Takizawa, walk along the footpath that continues from Maefudo Parking Lot, which takes about 60 minutes. Along the way, you will come across Takizawa Fudoson, which is said to have been built in the Heian period, and its appearance as if it is blending into the rock face gives off a mystical atmosphere. There are also caves scattered around the area where Kunisada Chuji is said to have once hid, making it a spot that exudes a sense of history. (Note: Currently, entry into the caves is prohibited due to the risk of collapse.)
On the way to the waterfall, you will have to cross rivers and climb slopes and rocky areas. To enjoy the trail safely, we recommend the following equipment:
Non-slip hiking or trekking shoes
Comfortable long sleeves and pants
Wear warm clothing in autumn and winter
