We will introduce you to some firefly viewing spots that are accessible by car from Akagi-shuku. Come and enjoy the fantastical experience of the faint dancing lights on an early summer night.
■ Taguchi Town Firefly Village (Maebashi City)
A "firefly paradise" that has been protected by the community as a whole.
This place has been protected by local residents since 1988, and is one of Gunma Prefecture's leading viewing spots, with many fireflies still dancing along the pure Hotaru River.
It is said that many fireflies fly around after 8pm on humid, windless nights. It is the perfect place to spend some quiet time on a summer night with a fantastical view.

■ Miyata Firefly Village (Maebashi City)
Fireflies quietly live in an old stream fed by spring water from the mountains. Thanks to a conservation project that began as a voluntary local activity, it has now become a soothing spot known only to those in the know, with many Genji and Heike fireflies flying about.
Located close to the city, you can experience time surrounded by nature.
